Lakefront homes are the whole purpose of Sand Point, Mich., and the dream of many families. When Russ and Diane Lundberg had the opportunity to make their dream come true and build along Lake Huron, they wanted to do it right. They called Community Builders.
Completed in 1999, the Lundberg's 2,800 sq. ft., elegant brick and siding masterpiece sits on a finished basement recreation room, providing an enormous amount of living and entertaining space.
"The kitchen, dining area and family room serve as the center for daytime activity," says Russ Lundberg. "We really enjoy the fireplace that is situated in our vaulted-ceiling family room, and an open 800 sq.ft. deck is accessed from this area."
The Lundberg's living room and formal dining room is on the west end of their home. A full bath is located off the kitchen area and another half bath is in the garage. "On the second level there are four bedrooms and two full bathrooms," he says. "Walk-in closets are present in three of the four bedrooms and our laundry room is adjacent to a bedroom suite."
Even with an abundance of square footage, the Lundberg's feel that an addition to the home will be make it even more complete. That's why they've secured Community Builders to add a 500 sq. ft. all-season activity room that will feature a swim-spa and an indoor lakeside viewing area.
The decision to hire Community Builders for the addition was an easy one.
"Community Builders provided the experience and knowledge to customize our home based on our wishes and desires," says Lundberg. "They were involved with the project from start to finish, beginning with the foundation design, inspection of footing and foundation walls, to completing the painting throughout our home."
When it comes down to it, nobody works harder than Community Builders to make sure a project gets done right and the customer is pleased.
"Community Builders are honest, hard-working contractors. We knew our estimated cost going into the project and were able to modify our plans as construction evolved," he says. "Even with the signed estimate and prepared contract, they were flexible with project addendums--they are incorporated into Community Builders management style."
